Larkspurs are annual delphiniums that come in numerous shades, including white, blue, pink and red. It’s a prolific bloomer, providing a long floral display in the garden as well as the vase. They also dry extremely well. At this time of year it’s best to plant seedlings or plants from your garden centre, though handle them gently as they don’t particularly like root disturbance. Seeds can be sown again in autumn or spring. Larkspurs do best in full sun where they’ll reach 1.2m high.
